Tax Preparation Services
The John Howard Society provides full year tax support to individuals and families in Central Alberta. This service ensures that, even with no, low or modest income, individual and family tax credits are available. As volunteers with the CVITP (Community Volunteer Income Tax Program), we are able to provide basic tax completion with the full support of the Canada Revenue Agency.

Income Guidelines from Canada Revenue:
Individuals and families with low to modest income.
For example an individual who has income of $35,000 or less, and a couple who has income of $45,000 or less are eligible for this service.

- Guaranteed Income Supplement (GIS)
- Canada Workers Benefit Advanced Payment (CWB)

As volunteers, we cannot complete complex returns involving:
- Self-employment income
- Business or rental income or expenses
- Capital gains or losses
- Employment expenses
- Personal bankruptcy
- Deceased individuals
