Horizon House
Community Based Residential Facility
Horizon House is a Community Based Residential Facility (CBRF) for men and women who are granted conditional release by the Parole Board of Canada (PBC). We have 23 beds in the facility (6 single and 17 shared) spread among 7 separate apartments. Each apartment is equipped with their own bathrooms, kitchens, and living rooms.
Horizon House CBRF is contracted by Correctional Services of Canada (CSC) and managed by the John Howard Society of Red Deer. In partnership with the agency’s other programs as well as important community stakeholders, residents are offered advocacy, support and supervision during their community reintegration. The CRF applies restorative principles, while holding residents accountable for making pro-social choices while residing at Horizon House.
Residents of Horizon House will work one on one with a Case Manager and a team of supportive staff, who will collectively support you in reaching your goals. Staff is onsite 24 hours a day for resident support.
